This week, I sit down with Sunny Myers to discuss what organizations can do to support their employees and indigenous communities throughout the year. We discuss intentional outreach, the importance of partnerships, and explore reparations.
Representation of indigenous communities is less than 1% for STEM-related fields. With the increased focus on race over the last few years, these communities are still often the most marginalized. In this conversation, Sunny and I discuss how companies can build strategic partnerships with indigenous-focused organizations such as AISES, the American Indian College Fund, or partner with one of the 32 accredited tribal colleges and universities in the United States.
As we celebrate Native American Heritage Month this month, I challenge you to think about how you continue to support indigenous communities beyond November. This conversation will surely spark ideas for you and your organization.
